Hello there! I'm thrilled to have this opportunity to introduce myself as a 23-year-old assistant library director living in the enchanting city of Pensacola, Florida. My name is Duncan Aldrich, and I'm here to share my love for literature and the incredible journey that brought me to this point in my career.
Growing up, I was captivated by the magic of books. Every story I immersed myself in took me on a new adventure, and the library became my sanctuary, where I could explore countless worlds from the pages of cherished tomes and throw myself into the minds of others. This boundless passion for reading laid the foundation for my career aspirations.
After graduating with a Bachelor's degree in English from Pensacola Christian College, I was fortunate enough to secure a position as Library Staff at the library on PCC's campus. Two years later, i have been asked to step into the position of Assistant Library Director.
In my role, I take immense pride in connecting patrons with the perfect books, seeing their eyes light up with excitement as they embark on new literary adventures. Whether it's introducing a student to the wonders of academic exploration or helping a faculty member prepare for their classes, every interaction reaffirms the profound impact of libraries on individuals and education.
Beyond my professional life, I cherish my role as a bibliophile, always seeking my next literary gem to devour during moments of leisure.
